Legend tells us of a mighty water spirit who fell in love with the Avatar, thousands of years ago. So great was the spirits love, that she sacrificed her immortality and became a human, so that she could share in his life.
When the Avatar first met her, he too fell instantly in love with her, and they lived a long and happy lifetime together, protecting and trusting in each other at all times.
When it came time for the Avatar to depart the living however, the water spirit despaired at being apart from her love. So she vowed upon his death bed to always follow him into his next life, being reborn again and again. As long as the Avatar spirit exists, so too will the love of the water spirit.

I absolutely adored the Painted Lady ep! Katara looked amazing as the painted lady, I am thinking of cosplaying her now. *_*
Anywho, the little drabble rolled along in my brain as I was drawing this picture. I enjoyed trying a different style than I am used too (although Aang does look a bit older XD; )

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

When Toph punches Aang, it's called chemistry; when Mai teases Zuko, it's called insensitivity.
Thank!
